Who You Are
We're looking for a developer who is passionate about clean code and great journalism to join our growing team for full-time on-site work. We welcome out-of-town applicants willing to relocate to the DC metro area but are currently unable to sponsor non-citizens unauthorized to work in the United States.
How We Hire
It starts with a resume, short cover letter, and a code sample – ideally a link to a profile on GitHub, BitBucket, or other service. If it looks like you are a fit, we'll schedule a phone interview to talk about the position, your work history, and talk through some technical questions. If we decide to move forward, we'll have you come into our office to meet the team.
Employees at The Atlantic are entitled to benefits including: 401(k) savings plan with employer match, health care with domestic partner coverage, flexible vacation and sick leave policy, commuter benefits, and rooftop happy hours with one of the best views in DC.
Across Atlantic Media, generally, the firm looks for two “pillar gifts” in its candidates. In all of us, these are more aspirational than actual, but they are central in our intentions.
1. Force of Intellect - Atlantic Media seeks a discipline and rigor of thought as manifested, often, in exceptional academic performance and, later, success in a professional environment.
2. Spirit of Generosity - Equally, Atlantic Media seeks what we term a spirit of generosity – a natural disposition towards service and selfless conduct.
Atlantic Media is an EOE of Minorities/Women/Vets/Disability.
Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
