Quartz is a digitally native news outlet with headquarters in New York and bureaus worldwide. Launched in 2012, we are a guide to the new global economy for people in business who are excited by change.
We are looking for a self-shooting video journalist / producer who can pitch, report, and shoot stories for our newly-launched weekly show, Quartz News.
The successful candidate needs to have strong journalistic instincts, international experience, and an eye for smart, interesting—often counterintuitive—stories. You’re a self starter who can work independently as well as with other journalists to bring a story to fruition. You can produce, shoot, and edit, and have a strong grasp of how to structure a good narrative. Ideally you will have a deep trove of trusted contacts who can help you execute your vision.
This journalist will join a highly collaborative international team with a mandate to pursue stories best told in video. We are looking for someone with an obsessive interest in international news and current affairs and a compulsion to find the most original, creative approaches to tackling the stories they have strong conviction around.
You should be adept with Premiere and the C300, as well as capturing good sound. Knowledge of languages in addition to English are a plus. This role is based in our London office, working closely with the team in New York.
The role is a full-time, 11-month contract.
To apply, please submit a cover letter, resume, and five links to relevant work.
