Ballast Research, an independent consulting division of National Journal and Atlantic Media, is recruiting candidates to join its management team and share in business development efforts. This research-based division serves senior policymakers in Washington and a growing number of states. Clients are typically heads of government affairs and communications firms, as well as the broader executive suite at Fortune 500 companies, prominent trade and member associations, and issue-based advocacy groups.
Ballast’s mission is to improve the conversation in Washington between and among colleagues in the public, private, and social sectors through primary source data and research. Each year, the team works with hundreds of senior federal and state government political appointees and career professionals to understand what works in advocacy and policymaking. Team members then curate a rich and robust set of exclusive data to guide, validate, and/or challenge clients’ strategic investments and approaches to advocacy.
National Journal has enjoyed success with welcoming attorneys, consultants, and entrepreneurs with “extreme talent” who are considering a move out of their current roles or industries into general management.
We seek two pillar attributes in our candidates:
Our team prides itself on recruiting candidates who are intelligent and equal to the service we provide, highly engaging, driven, and tolerant of ambiguity in pursuit of first-class service, development, and delivery.
Atlantic Media is an equal opportunity employer of minorities, women, veterans and those with disabilities.
