Policy Brands Roundtable is currently looking for a Research Analyst to join the team. 

We are a strategic research service designed to help government affairs professionals identify and develop the most effective approaches to advocacy.  We study organizations’ policy brand, which is a measure of an organization’s long-term reputation and influence among the power-brokers of DC.  We serve our clients - separate from the journalistic work of National Journal and Atlantic Media - through a quantitative bench-marking study, qualitative interviews, and other diagnostic tools that allow them to track and improve their Washington brand and ultimately enhance their approach to advocacy.

Who the Research Analyst is:
A self-motivated, innovative, and driven individual with proven analytical skills, deep intellectual curiosity, and a passion for qualitative and quantitative research.  This individual will collaborate with internal team members to help design and execute research initiatives, which includes conducting exclusive interviews with senior policymakers in Washington, including Capitol Hill staff, Executive Branch staff, and Government Affairs Executives to understand their perspectives on effective advocacy in Washington.  The analyst will use the resulting quantitative and qualitative data to create client reports that focus on actionable insights.  An aptitude for and interest in Washington politics and policy, combined with client-facing consulting, is welcome.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct phone interviews with senior Congressional, Executive Branch, and private sector advocacy professionals
  • Analyze bench-marking survey data to create informative, visual reports with high quality graphics using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Process and synthesize large quantities of qualitative interview data to generate research-based insights for an executive audience
  • Contextualize and interpret research findings within larger ideas, topics, and trends

Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate:

  • Excellent writer with experience crafting powerful, concise summaries for an executive audience
  • Experience conducting research interviews in a professional setting
  • Experience analyzing bench-marking survey data
  • Background in creating visual graphics of both quantitative and qualitative data
  • Ability to present findings to team members and clients
  • Outstanding client-service ethic and experience interacting with senior executives
  • Demonstrated experience using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in a professional setting
  • 1-2 years’ post-undergraduate experience conducting applied research
  • Excellent academic record
  • Excellent time management, including demonstrated proficiency at managing multiple projects simultaneously
